1/12/2024 0 Comments Ryan reynolds green lantern ring![]() Most recently, Reynolds directly addressed rumors of his return as Green Lantern in Zack Snyder's Justice League on social media, saying that he'd love to take part in it while also stating " I've heard I may already be in it?" and including the #SnyderCut hashtag. At the time, it would have been easier to attribute Reynolds' comment as a one-liner playing off of the social media frenzy of Justice League's two-year anniversary that had taken place just weeks earlier, but he wouldn't stop there. During the panel, Reynolds capped offed his plot summary of the movie with the comment " Which I guess what I'm trying to say is this is the Snyder Cut", before remarking that " I'm on the wrong panel," amid the cheers of the audience. Reynolds' first real entry point into the hemisphere of the Snyder Cut came during his appearance at CCXP in Sao Paulo, Brazil in December of 2019 to promote the Netflix action movie 6 Underground. However, the possibility of it has to be examined through a different lens, given that Reynolds himself has begun dropping teases of his own. Of course, mere rumors of Reynolds returning could easily be dismissed as nothing more substantial than simple internet chatter or wishful fanboy thinking, especially considering how poorly Reynolds' first time in the role went. Screen Rant editors even discussed early rumors of Reynolds hypothetically returning on the Total Geekall podcast. Since Snyder's teasing of Green Lantern in the Snyder Cut, Reynolds' name has been mentioned as a potential candidate to appear as Hal Jordan in the movie, akin to his second chance at Deadpool. Since then, Reynolds has been quite vocal about his own dissatisfaction with the finished product, with Deadpool killing a smiling Reynolds holding the Green Lantern script in the ending of Deadpool 2. Unfortunately, the film was subject to an all-around terrible reception and was a major box-office failure. However don't skip this movie because of the low Rotten Tomatoes score.Reynolds is well-known for his prior portrayal of Hal Jordan in 2011's aforementioned Green Lantern movie. You might agree with the critics or you might not. At the end of the day, it should be only your opinion that matters to you. At the end of the day, don't listen to the critics. No doubt, the critics were extremely tough on the Green Lantern and it is unfair. The 3D was actually really good and the special effects were memorable. Although it is nowhere near the realm of The Dark Knight, it didn't need to be. Overall the Green Lantern was a fun summer flick. Also the editing gets to be a little distracting at times, they certainly needed to have done a better job, but the editing is mediocre at best. It did kind of focus on too many characters. It seems that there could be so many sequels for the other characters. The main problem of the film was that they were trying to cram stuff in from the comics and the personal lives of the other characters. Unlike Thor and X-Men, The Green Lantern is more kids friendly. They want another sad, personal and serious story. Which could be the reason why critics disliked it so much. Also the film did not take itself seriously which is kind of refreshing. I have to say I was a little disappointed how Parallax looked like, it felt a little fake at times, but it is not horrible in any sense of the way. Although it sometimes feel a little CGIish, but it doesn't get too big of a distraction. The special effects are pretty superb and extremely worthwhile to say the least. Overall everyone tries their best and at the end of the day do a really great job, certainly no Oscar worthy performances, though. Peter Sarsgaard is a great actor and he plays the villainous Hector Hemmond really well and interesting. Blake Lively is great and extremely sexy, she's not just a pretty face as most are suggesting. He definitely fits the role as Hal Jordan really well. ![]() Ryan Reynolds is great as Hal Jordan and extremely likable. The acting in the film is good and not terrible at all. ![]() It would probably be in the high 60s, if it was released before Thor and X-Men: First Class. It is ranked now 24% on Rotten Tomatoes, which is way too low. They should not compare the Green Lantern with those films. I think critics might have raised their expectations due to Thor and X-Men: First Class. It is definitely not an awful film, like most critics are saying. Now let me begin by saying this film is not an amazing film.
